Henry Bourne is a photographer based in London. His work has appeared in numerous exhibitions worldwide, including; “Folklore & Photography”, at the Towner Gallery for Contemporary Art in 2012. “Modern British Folklore Portraits” at the Central State Exhibition hall in St Petersburg. “Now & Then” an exhibition of contemporary art and historical objects at Harris Lindsay London 2011. Bourne’s work was exhibited as part of “ Vogue 100: A Century of Style” in 2016 at The National Portrait Gallery London and subsequently at the Manchester City Art Gallery.
Henry was the winner of the St. Petersburg Contemporary Photographic Festival prize in 2011. Other awards include a SPD Gold award for photography (USA) & in 2010 Bourne was a recipient of the American Photography # 26 award. Bourne’s work forms part of the National Portrait Gallery’s (London) permanent collection of portrait photography, The Design Museum (London), and the Museum of British Folklore’s permanent collections.
His first monograph book “Arcadia Britannica, a Modern British Folklore Portrait” was published in 2015 by Thames & Hudson worldwide.
Henry is a regular contributor to Vogue & Harper’s Bazaar magazines worldwide & T: The New York Times Style Magazine. His editorial work has also appeared in, amongst others, The Conde Nast Traveller, Cereal, D la Republicca, Elle, Numero, The Telegraph Magazine, W, The Wall Street Journal Magazine, Wallpaper, The World of Interiors & Vanity Fair magazines. Portrait commissions include: Gillian Anderson, The Duchess of Cornwall, Tom Dixon, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jessica Ennis, Tracey Emin, Zaha Hadid, the Prime Minister of the UK; Boris Johnson, Ralph Lauren, Carey Mulligan, Elizabeth McGovern, Steve McQueen, Grayson Perry, Richard Prince, Emeli Sande, Paula Rego, Vanessa Redgrave and The Countess of Wessex.
